I believe that individuals should be in proper charge of their health care plans. We need to seriously consider competitive options for helping us take care of our health care costs. I do not support government-run health care. We can easily see the poor outcomes from that kind of system in many European countries and in Canada. I want to support the consumer’s right to see the provider that they feel will provide them with the best care and treatment.

Along with all of the above points, however, we need to take seriously the importance of taking better care of ourselves. Of industrialized nations, we are the leaders in emergency room and trauma care, but we are 37th in regards to preventing chronic illness and diseases (according to the World Health Organization). Fitness and health are important to me. I want to increase awareness of solid disease prevention strategies instead of depending primarily on disease management principles for the care of our health.
