We are witnessing the acceptance of ending innocent human life at its earliest stages and then in the later vulnerable stages. Mother Teresa sums up this grave issue well: "If we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people to not kill each other? Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use violence to get what they want." We should be ashamed of the vast forms and incidences of violence and disrespect against women and innocent children in our society that would bring a person to consider an act of desperation like this. Ronald Reagan gave these simple memorable statements: "Abortion is advocated only by persons who have themselves been born," and, "We cannot diminish the value of one category of human life--the unborn--without diminishing the value of all human life." If we are honest, we don't have to look far at all to see the ramifications of devaluing our most vulnerable persons in this country.  I am committed to do whatever it takes to stop abortion in this state the 1st day in office.
